Heart of Midlothian is delighted to announce that promising young goalkeeper Liam McFarlane has signed a contract extension, keeping him at Tynecastle Park until the summer of 2029 .

The 21-year-old is currently enjoying a strong start to the season while on loan at Partick Thistle, having previously gained valuable experience with loan spells at East Fife and Alloa Athletic .
McFarlane arrives in excellent form, having kept two clean sheets in Thistle’s opening two Championship matches — against Greenock Morton and Livingston — and is expected to be a key figure as Mark Wilson’s side chases promotion to the Premiership .
The Scotland youth international also enjoyed a summer of progress, travelling with the Scotland senior squad as a training goalkeeper at the World Cup, further boosting his development .
A graduate of the Hearts Academy, McFarlane has represented Scotland at youth level and has now committed his long-term future to the club. The new deal secures his place at Tynecastle until 2029, providing a major boost to Hearts’ goalkeeping depth for years to come .
