🎉 WELL DESERVED! Bellegarde Pens New Wolves Deal — Among Club’s Top Earners
WOLVERHAMPTON, ENGLAND — Wolverhampton Wanderers have rewarded key midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde with a brand-new contract extension, recognising his outstanding contributions since arriving at Molineux. The fresh terms keep him at the club until 2031 and place him among the highest-paid players in the squad — a fully deserved milestone for a fan favourite who has grown into a true leader in gold and black.
From Strasbourg To Molineux
Bellegarde signed for Wolves from RC Strasbourg Alsace on September 1, 2023, for a fee of £12.8 million, putting pen to paper on an initial five-year deal running until 2028. Few could have predicted just how influential he would become in such a short space of time.
A Rising List Of Achievements
His time at Wolves has been packed with milestones:
– ⭐ February 2025 Player of the Month: Voted Wolves’ SUDU Player of the Month with 23.9% of the vote, thriving in a central midfield role under Vítor Pereira.
– ⚽ Premier League Goal of the Month Nomination: His stunning long-range strike against Nottingham Forest in August 2024 earned him a nomination for the league’s best goal award.
– 🌍 History Maker for Haiti: In August 2025, he became the first-ever Haitian-represented player to feature in the Premier League.
– 🏆 World Cup 2026 Star: He represented Haiti on the world stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, appearing in all three matches after helping his nation secure that historic qualification.
“This Is Where I Want To Be”
Speaking exclusively to Wolves TV after putting pen to paper, Bellegarde said:
“I am so happy. This club has become my home. Every time I walk out at Molineux, I feel the connection with the fans — it’s special. This extension shows the trust the club has in me, and I want to repay that trust with everything I have. We have big ambitions here, and I want to be part of what we build together.”
The club’s sporting director added: “Jean-Ricner has developed into an integral part of this squad — not just for his quality on the ball, but for his character and influence in the dressing room. This new deal is recognition of his hard work, and we’re delighted he’s committed his future to us.”
Congratulations, Jean-Ricner — here’s to many more memories in the Old Gold! 🐺
