Heartbreaking News: Derby’s Bobby Clark Mourns Loss Of Beloved Uncle

DERBY, ENGLAND –  This is not the news any of us wanted to hear. Derby County key midfielder Bobby Clark has shared the heartbreaking announcement today that his beloved uncle — a man who meant the world to him — has passed away. In a message that has touched supporters everywhere, the young star paid a moving tribute to the family member who supported him through every step of his football journey, on and off the pitch.

“He was there from the very beginning,” Clark shared in an emotional statement released through the club. “Through every match, every move, every quiet moment of doubt — he was my encouragement, my joy, and my greatest comfort. To lose him so suddenly leaves a silence nothing can fill. I carry him in my heart always.”

Clark has quickly become one of the Rams’ most exciting young talents since joining the club. He enjoyed a stellar loan spell that turned permanent, earning the EA Sports FC EFL Young Player of the Month award for January 2026 before being crowned Derby County Young Player of the Season — a testament to his creativity, composure, and huge potential. His rise has been one of the brightest stories at Pride Park, making this personal loss all the more difficult for everyone connected with the club.

The entire Derby family — players, staff, and supporters — have rallied around the teenager, with messages of sympathy and support pouring in from across the football world. The club confirmed he has been granted compassionate leave to be with his family at this incredibly difficult time, and that everyone at Pride Park stands with him.

“Bobby is part of our family,” a club statement read. “We are heartbroken for him and for his family. Whatever he needs, for however long he needs it — we are here. Today, football doesn’t matter. What matters is being there for one of our own.”

To Bobby and his family: the thoughts and prayers of the entire Derby County community are with you. Rest in peace.
