THREE KEY REASONS: ANDREJ BAJOVIĆ PICKS HEARTS OVER RANGERS & MOTHERWELL

Andrej Bajović has committed his future to Heart of Midlothian, turning down rival offers from Rangers and Motherwell after finalising his move from FK Dečić. The 23-year-old Montenegrin central midfielder confirmed his decision today following successful negotiations, with both clubs agreeing a fixed transfer fee of €300,000.

Here are the three key factors behind his choice:

1. Clear First-Team Path

Bajović identified Hearts’ immediate playing opportunities as decisive. While Rangers offered prestige, competition for midfield places would have limited minutes. At Tynecastle, the club outlined a central role in their starting XI, giving him the platform to develop consistently and showcase his qualities in the Scottish Premiership and European competition.

2. Trust in the Project

The midfielder was impressed by Hearts’ long-term vision. Managerial plans, training infrastructure, and ambitions to compete for European spots resonated more than short-term proposals elsewhere. His technical profile—88% pass accuracy and high work rate—fits perfectly into the Jambos’ style of play.

3. Stability and Environment

Motherwell provided a solid offer, but Bajović prioritised the bigger stage and passionate fanbase at Tynecastle. He believes the club’s history, support, and competitive environment will accelerate his growth and help him push for more senior Montenegro caps.

Bajović joined Dečić in August 2022 and leaves with 108 appearances, 9 goals, and European experience in the UEFA Conference League. Standing at 1.85m, he is a composed, ball-carrying midfielder with strong defensive awareness.

Medical checks are scheduled for later this week, with a three-year contract expected to be signed shortly. The deal represents a low-risk, high-upside investment for Hearts, who move quickly to strengthen their engine room ahead of the new campaign.
