PARRAMATTA EELS STAR RYLEY SMITH SIGNS THREE-YEAR PRE-CONTRACT WITH BRISBANE BRONCOS
Brisbane, Australia – Brisbane Broncos have today confirmed the signing of Parramatta Eels standout Ryley Smith on a three-year pre-contract, with the talented player set to make the move north ahead of the upcoming season.
Smith, who has built a strong reputation during his time with the Eels – where he was listed as player number 855 – has agreed to terms that will see him don the iconic red, blue and gold of the Broncos until the end of 2029. The deal was finalised in a signing ceremony earlier today, marking a significant recruitment coup for the Brisbane club.
Brisbane Broncos head coach Bradley Kanaris expressed his delight at securing Smith’s services, describing the player as a valuable addition to the team’s roster. “We are thrilled to welcome Ryley to the Brisbane Broncos family,” Kanaris said. “He has consistently demonstrated his skill, work ethic and commitment to excellence with the Eels, and we believe he will bring exactly the kind of quality and determination we need to push for silverware in the coming years. His experience at the top level will be invaluable for our squad, and we look forward to seeing him thrive in our system.”
Smith, who has been a key contributor for Parramatta in recent seasons, spoke of his excitement at the new chapter in his career. “I’m incredibly grateful for everything the Eels have done for me, but I’m ready for this new challenge with the Broncos,” he stated. “Brisbane is a club with a rich history and passionate fans, and I’m determined to do my part to help bring success back to Red Hill. Working under Coach Kanaris and alongside some of the game’s finest players is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
The signing comes as part of the Broncos’ strategic plan to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign, with Smith expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s on-field structure. Club officials have noted that negotiations were concluded smoothly, with both parties aligned on the vision for the player’s development and the team’s ambitions.
