“I’ll Be Back Sooner Than Expected” — Raul’s Positive Update After Successful Surgery
WOLVERHAMPTON, ENGLAND — Good news and a defiant message from Raúl Jiménez has lifted spirits across Molineux this weekend. The Mexican striker underwent successful knee surgery in London on Friday, and immediately sent an emotional message to Wolves fans:
“The surgery went well — everything is exactly as it should be. Thank you for all your love and support. I will work harder than ever, and I promise you: I will come back before the day I’m supposed to be back. See you soon. ”
A Wolves Legend Returns — And Then The Setback
Jiménez first became a club legend between 2018 and 2023, scoring 57 goals in 166 appearances, winning Wolves Player of the Year in both 2019 and 2020, and firing 27 goals across all competitions in that magnificent 2019–20 season. He returned to Molineux in 2026, picking up right where he left off with 3 goals in his first 6 league matches.
But on September 16, during a tight 1–0 Carabao Cup win over Everton, he suffered a medial collateral ligament injury in his left knee. The club initially tried conservative treatment, but when scans showed insufficient healing, surgery was confirmed. The expected timeline: January 2027.
Typical Raúl — Already Pushing
That estimate hasn’t dampened his determination. While he will miss Wolves’ upcoming Championship fixtures and Mexico’s Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal against Jamaica in November, Jiménez is already approaching his rehabilitation with trademark focus and intensity.
The club confirmed: “Everything went perfectly. Raúl is in great spirits and his attitude is exactly what we know him for. He will follow an intensive rehabilitation programme — and while we’ll be careful, nobody sets a higher bar for himself than Raúl.”
We believe in you, Raul. Take care — but we know you’ll give it everything. Speedy recovery!
