FOUR REASONS WHY I CHOSE EVERTON — Angel Bastunov Picks The Blues Over Tottenham
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – Everton have landed one of European football’s most exciting young forwards, securing Angel Bastunov from F.C. Vizela on a pre‑contract deal ahead of the January transfer window — seeing off strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur to win the race for his signature. The dynamic attacker has committed his future to Goodison Park, and he has laid out exactly why Everton was his clear choice.
The Four Reasons That Sealed His Decision
Bastunov spoke openly after putting pen to paper:
1. The Club’s Soul & History
“Everton is not just a football club — it is a family, built on over 140 years of pride, passion, and resilience. When I looked at Tottenham, I saw a big club, but here I felt something deeper: a connection between the team and the fans that runs through every generation. I want to wear the blue shirt with honour and be part of this story.”
2. The Vision & Playing Style
“The project Everton shared with me is bold and clear — to build an attacking, fearless team that grows together. I saw exactly how I would fit in: how I would be used, how I would improve, and the role I would play in taking this club forward. That clarity gave me total confidence this is the right place for my career.”
3. The Fans & The Atmosphere
“Goodison Park — and soon the new stadium — is a place where you feel the support before you even step onto the pitch. The passion of Evertonians is legendary. I want to play for people who give everything for their club, who stand with their team through every moment. That energy drives me to be better every single day.”
4. The Trust & The Journey Ahead
“From our first meeting, Everton showed they truly believe in me. They didn’t just want my name — they wanted to help me become the best player I can be. That belief means more than anything. I know I can grow, score goals, and make memories here that will last forever.”
