20 MINUTES AGO: The Whole Of Wolverhampton Wanderers Stands United Behind Legend Steve Bull – A Wave Of Support As The Club’s Greatest Goalscorer Leaves Hospital

WOLVERHAMPTON, ENGLAND  — Just twenty minutes ago, news that Wolves icon Steve Bull has been discharged from hospital today has sparked an outpouring of relief and solidarity across the entire Molineux family. From club officials, former teammates and the current squad to supporters young and old, everyone has come together to send strength, gratitude and warmest wishes to the man universally hailed as the greatest goalscorer in the club’s history — a true legend whose name will forever be synonymous with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bull gave 13 glorious years of service in the old gold, amassing a club-record 306 goals in 561 appearances — a benchmark that stands untouched to this day. His numbers are nothing short of legendary: 18 hat-tricks, and the distinction of being the only player in the club’s history to score 50 or more goals in consecutive seasons — 52 in 1987–88 and 50 in 1988–89 — as he fired Wolves to back‑to‑back league titles: the Fourth Division championship in 1987–88 and the Third Division title in 1988–89. He also lifted the Sherpa Van Trophy at Wembley in 1988, capping a season of remarkable personal and team achievement.

“Steve Bull is the heartbeat of this football club,” said a Wolves spokesperson. “He is our all‑time record goalscorer, our greatest servant, and a man who gave everything for the badge for 13 incredible seasons. We are so relieved and delighted to see him home and recovering well; the entire Wolves family stands right beside him.”

Tributes have flooded in from across football, recalling his lethal finishing, his tireless work rate, and the way he carried the club through its most testing times. Supporters have shared countless memories — from his Wembley masterclass to the 50‑goal seasons that lifted the club from the bottom tier back toward the light. “He put this club on his back and carried us forward,” said one lifelong fan. “Today we show him the same loyalty he showed us for all those years.”

Bull has always spoken with immense pride of his time at Molineux, turning down bigger offers to stay loyal to the club he loved. Today that loyalty is returned tenfold: Wolverhampton Wanderers stands united, grateful for his safe discharge and proud to call him the greatest of them all.
