Tynecastle Park set for major new upgrade as Hearts confirm renovation plans

Tynecastle Park,  – Welcome news has landed at Gorgie today, as Heart of Midlothian officially announced a landmark programme of improvements to Tynecastle Park, designed to modernise facilities and enhance the matchday experience for supporters ahead of the new campaign.

The stadium already underwent full reconstruction a decade ago, when the brand‑new Main Stand was completed in 2017 to transform the venue’s layout and capacity. In 2024, the club made history again by opening the Tynecastle Park Hotel – the very first hotel owned and run directly by a British football club, built within the Main Stand structure.

This latest major project will build on those advances, with works scheduled to finish well before the opening fixture of the 2026‑27 season. While full technical details remain to be released, the club confirmed the scheme will upgrade spectator amenities, improve accessibility standards, and integrate the hotel and stadium operations more smoothly to create a year‑round destination for fans and visitors.

Announcing the plans, club chief executive Andrew McKinlay said: “Tynecastle is the beating heart of this football club and our community. We have invested carefully in recent years to secure its future, and this renovation ensures our home remains a source of pride for generations to come. We are delivering on our promise to keep improving what we offer to everyone who comes through these gates.”

Supporters have welcomed the update, noting how previous works – from the Main Stand rebuild to the pioneering hotel – have balanced Tynecastle’s rich heritage with modern standards. “This stadium means everything to us,” said lifelong fan Elaine Stewart. “It’s great to see the club investing in making it better still, while keeping the atmosphere and identity that makes it special.”

Construction teams will work around the clock to meet the tight deadline, with the club promising minimal disruption and full transparency as works progress.
