Beto sends goodbye message to Everton FC fans
Beto has posted an emotional farewell message to Everton FC supporters after officially confirming his departure, following a firm €46 million offer from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. The striker finished the 2025/2026 campaign as Everton’s top scorer, registering 10 goals across all competitions—9 of those coming in the Premier League.
Everton operates primarily with a single striker system and views this deal as a strategic move: they only sanctioned the exit once the valuation met their target and as they actively pursue an upgrade in the No. 9 role. The club’s stance was clear: Beto could leave provided they received acceptable terms or lined up a suitable replacement.
In his message, Beto wrote: “To every Everton fan, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Being your top goalscorer this season means so much to me. I gave everything in every match at Goodison Park. The offer from Fenerbahçe opens a new chapter, but I will never forget the warmth you gave me. I wish the club every success in finding a new striker to lead our attack forward—never stop supporting this great club.”
The 28‑year‑old Portugal‑Guinea‑Bissau forward departs after becoming the focal point of Everton’s attack. Fenerbahçe sees his physical presence and finishing as ideal for their Süper Lig and European ambitions. For Everton, the fee represents strong value while aligning with their plan to refresh the frontline: they are now accelerating recruitment to secure a more clinical and dynamic No. 9 to fit their preferred tactical setup.
The transfer is now finalised, bringing to an end Beto’s tenure as Everton’s leading marksman.
