Hearts Win Race to Sign Striker Pablo from West Ham United
Heart of Midlothian F.C. have won the race to secure the signature of young striker Pablo, landing the forward from West Ham United following the London club’s relegation from the Premier League. The 22-year-old has emerged as a key target for the Scottish side, with reports confirming they have moved ahead of several English clubs to finalize the deal.
Pablo joined West Ham United in January of the same year from Portuguese top-flight side Gil Vicente, arriving with high hopes of making an immediate impact. During his brief spell in England, he featured 14 times in the league, registering one assist as he adapted to the pace and physicality of the Premier League. However, following West Ham’s drop to the Championship, the club began reshaping their squad, opening the door for Pablo to seek a new opportunity elsewhere.
According to Football Insider, Hearts have established themselves as the clear front-runners for his signature, seeing off interest from fellow Premier League sides Brentford and AFC Bournemouth. Those clubs had also monitored his progress, but the Scottish club presented a clearer pathway to regular first-team football and a well-defined project that appealed to the player.
Known for his intelligent movement, direct running, and ability to link play between midfield and attack, Pablo brings a different profile to Hearts’ forward line. Standing at 1.86m, he also offers a strong aerial presence, adding variety to their attacking options ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign.
Personal terms have been agreed in principle, and the transfer is now awaiting final paperwork and a medical examination, which is expected to take place early next week. Once all formalities are completed, Hearts will officially announce the signing, with Pablo set to join pre-season training immediately.
For Heart of Midlothian, this represents a significant coup: landing a player with Premier League and Portuguese Primeira Liga experience at a competitive fee. For Pablo, the move offers the perfect chance to secure regular minutes, develop his game further, and become a key figure in Hearts’ push for European places next season.
