“THREE POWERFUL REASONS”: Jack Bostock Explains Parramatta Eels Pre-Contract — Dolphins Star Bound For Eels In 2028
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Highly-rated Dolphins key player Jack Bostock has delivered a major NRL transfer announcement, revealing he has agreed to a pre-contract deal to join the Parramatta Eels ahead of the 2028 season. The dynamic outside back will remain with the Dolphins through the conclusion of the 2027 campaign before officially making the move to CommBank Stadium — a decision he has locked in despite still being contracted until the end of next year.
Under NRL free-agency rules, Bostock — who is signed with the Dolphins through 2027 — cannot officially negotiate with rival clubs until November 1 this year. However, both parties have moved to secure a pre-contract agreement, with the Eels beating off strong competition from multiple clubs to land one of the competition’s most exciting young talents. Speaking publicly for the first time about the decision, Bostock outlined three powerful reasons behind his choice:

1. Long-Term Vision And Premiership Ambition
“The Parramatta Eels are building something special here. They’ve been consistent contenders, they’ve been to grand finals, and they’re hungry for a title. When I looked at where I want to be in my prime years, this was the place that matched my ambition. It’s not just about the next season — it’s about being part of a squad that can win multiple premierships, and I believe that’s what we can achieve here.”
2. Perfect Fit For My Game And Development
“The way Parramatta plays — their structure, their speed in attack, the way they use their outside backs — suits my style perfectly. I see a clear path to grow as a player under their coaching staff. They’ve had success developing young backs and giving them the freedom to express themselves. That environment is exactly what I need to take my game to the next level.”
3. The Club’s Culture And Connection
“From the moment I sat down with the club, I felt a genuine connection. The family culture, the respect for players, the passion of the Eels faithful — it felt like home. You want to play somewhere you’re valued as a person, not just a player. That belief in me, and the trust they’ve shown by planning for my future, meant everything.”
Bostock has been a standout performer for the Dolphins since establishing himself in the top flight, known for his blistering speed, strong aerial ability and damaging runs. The Eels have moved decisively to secure his services, with the pre-contract set to be formalised once the NRL’s negotiation window opens on November 1.

“I’ve given everything to the Dolphins and I will give 100% until my last game here,” Bostock said. “But when the time comes, I’m excited for this new chapter. Parramatta is a massive club with a huge history, and I can’t wait to pull on the blue and gold.”
The Eels confirmed the deal in principle, describing Bostock as “one of the brightest young talents in the game” and a key piece of their roster build for the coming years. For now, all focus remains on the current season — but the message is clear: the Eels have secured a future star, and the countdown to 2028 has begun.
