ROOSTERS LAND RECORD-BREAKING BACK GARRICK ON THREE-YEAR DEAL

The Sydney Roosters have pulled off a major recruitment coup, securing the signature of Manly Warringah Sea Eagles star Reuben Garrick on a three-year contract set to commence in the 2027 NRL season. The deal, finalised in late 2025, sees one of the competition’s most prolific point-scorers commit to Bondi after concluding his obligations with Manly in 2026.

Garrick, 28, will remain a key figure for the Sea Eagles throughout the upcoming campaign, where he will continue to lead their attacking charge from centre – a position he has made his own in recent seasons after starting his career on the wing. Renowned as one of the NRL’s elite goal-kickers, the Sydney-born back has been a consistent match-winner for Manly since his debut in 2019.

His list of achievements cements his status as one of the game’s modern greats. In 2021, he claimed the Dally M Winger of the Year award and etched his name in rugby league history by becoming the first player to score 20 tries and 100 goals in a single premiership season. That same year, he shattered Hazem El Masri’s long-standing NRL regular season points record with 304 points, ultimately finishing the campaign with 334 points to claim the league’s top point-scorer award.

Garrick has also notched four tries in a single match, earned representative honours with the Junior Kangaroos and PM’s XIII, and currently sits third on Manly’s all-time points list – behind only club legends Graham Eadie and Jamie Lyon. He has been the Sea Eagles’ leading point-scorer for six consecutive seasons, including topping their charts in 2025 with 176 points from 12 tries and 64 goals.

“We are delighted to secure Reuben’s services from 2027,” said Roosters CEO Joe Kelly. “He is a proven match-winner, and his skill set aligns perfectly with our playing philosophy. We wish him all the very best for a successful 2026 campaign with Manly.”

Garrick expressed gratitude for both clubs while focusing on his immediate priorities. “I’m excited about the new challenge ahead with the Roosters, but my full attention is on delivering for Manly this season,” he stated. “I have great respect for the Sea Eagles and will give my all to help the team achieve success in 2026.”

Roosters head coach Trent Robinson highlighted Garrick’s versatility and leadership qualities as key assets. “Reuben brings experience, consistency, and a winning mentality that will strengthen our backline and provide valuable guidance for our younger players,” Robinson said.
