Manly Sea Eagles secure experienced forward Adam Elliott on two-year deal
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have announced the signing of former Newcastle Knights forward Adam Elliott to a two-year contract, bolstering their pack ahead of the upcoming NRL season. The deal follows Elliott’s recent release from the Knights, where he spent three seasons (2023–2025) and established himself as a reliable, experienced campaigner.
During his tenure at Newcastle, Elliott played a pivotal role in the club’s return to finals football, contributing to 5th-place and 8th-place finishes in 2023 and 2024 respectively. He featured prominently in those playoff runs, showcasing his strong defensive capabilities and leadership in the middle. A standout moment came in 2024 when he scored two tries in a single match, highlighting his ability to impact games offensively as well as defensively. While the 2025 season saw the Knights struggle for form, Elliott remained a consistent presence until his departure, earning respect for his work ethic and resilience.
Sea Eagles head coach Anthony Seibold welcomed Elliott’s arrival, stating: “Adam’s experience in finals football and his reputation as a tough, disciplined forward make him an excellent addition to our squad. We believe he will bring valuable depth and leadership to our middle unit.” The signing addresses Manly’s need for seasoned cover in the forward pack, as they aim to build on their 2025 campaign and challenge for a top-eight spot.
Elliott expressed enthusiasm about his new opportunity, saying: “I’m thrilled to join the Sea Eagles and contribute to their ambitions. My time at Newcastle taught me a great deal, and I’m ready to embrace this fresh challenge on the Northern Beaches.” Financial terms of the contract remain undisclosed, but the two-year commitment reflects Manly’s confidence in his ability to perform at the highest level.
As Elliott prepares to link up with his new teammates, he will look to build on his achievements in Newcastle and establish himself as a key figure in Manly’s forward lineup. The move signals the club’s intent to strengthen their roster with proven talent ahead of the competitive season.
