Roosters Secure Versatile Star Garrick in Major 2026 Recruitment

The Sydney Roosters have strengthened their roster for the 2026 NRL season with the signing of versatile Manly Warringah Sea Eagles standout Reuben Garrick, a player capable of excelling across wing, centre, and fullback positions. The deal secures one of the competition’s most prolific point-scorers, adding depth and attacking firepower to Bondi Junction.

Garrick, who began his NRL career as a winger before transitioning increasingly to centre in recent seasons, has built a reputation as a dual-threat talent, renowned for his clinical goal-kicking and consistent try-scoring. His adaptability has seen him fill in at fullback when required, making him a valuable asset for navigating injuries, State of Origin absences, and tactical shifts.

At Manly, Garrick etched his name in the club’s history books. In 2021, he claimed the NRL’s Top Point Scorer award with a remarkable 334 points from 23 tries and 121 goals, earning Dally M Winger of the Year honours and becoming the first player in league history to notch 20 tries and 100 goals in a single season. A multiple recipient of the Sea Eagles’ Steve Menzies Medal as Player of the Year, he has been the club’s leading scorer on several occasions and now sits third on Manly’s all-time points list, holding club records for most points and goals in a season.

Roosters recruitment officials noted that Garrick’s versatility and proven track record align with the club’s focus on roster flexibility as they plan for upcoming transitions. His arrival promises to complement existing attacking talent while providing a reliable option across key backline positions, enhancing the team’s competitiveness in 2026 and beyond.
