ESPN CONFIRMS: MANLY APPROVES $75.6M 4 PINES PARK REDEVELOPMENT SPANNING 2026-2027
ESPN has confirmed the Manly Sea Eagles have given final approval to a $75.6 million stadium redevelopment project for 4 Pines Park (Brookvale Oval), with works scheduled to unfold across 2026 and 2027 to transform the aging venue into a modern, versatile facility.
The comprehensive upgrade comes four years after the ground’s last major overhaul in 2022 — a $33 million initiative that delivered the Bob Fulton Stand, Centre of Excellence, and introduced the “4 Pines Park” branding. While that project modernized key areas and boosted match-day experiences, the club has long recognized the need for a more extensive revamp to address the venue’s struggle to meet contemporary NRL standards.
As Manly’s spiritual home since 1947, 4 Pines Park has faced persistent challenges with large crowd management, outdated food and beverage infrastructure, and facilities that lag behind newer stadiums in the competition. The new redevelopment will tackle these issues head-on, with plans including a state-of-the-art grandstand and preliminary discussions underway about potentially adding a roof — a feature that would enable year-round events and protect fans from inclement weather.
To secure funding and ensure long-term financial sustainability, the Sea Eagles are exploring strategic partnerships with developers and holding talks about a potential collaboration with the UFC. This would see the venue host mixed martial arts events alongside NRL matches, diversifying revenue streams and cementing 4 Pines Park as a major sporting hub on the Northern Beaches.
“This $75.6 million investment is about future-proofing our club and creating a world-class venue that serves both our fans and the local community,” said a Sea Eagles spokesperson. “The 2022 upgrade was a vital first step, but this project will close the gap with other NRL grounds and ensure Brookvale Oval remains our home for generations to come.”
Construction will begin in early 2026, with phased works designed to minimize disruption to Manly’s home games. The project is targeted for full completion by the end of 2027, when supporters will be able to experience the fully transformed 4 Pines Park in all its glory.
