SYDNEY ROOSTERS ANNOUNCE MODERN STANDARD STATUS FOR LEGENDARY COACH TRENT ROBINSON

SYDNEY – The Sydney Roosters have officially agreed to bestow “Modern Standard” status upon their greatest coach of all time, Trent Robinson, with a permanent tribute to be installed at the club’s stadium. The honour recognises Robinson’s extraordinary contribution to the Tricolours, marking him as the benchmark for coaching excellence in the modern NRL era.

Since taking the reins, Robinson has crafted one of the most dominant tenures in Australian rugby league history, leading the Roosters to three NRL Premierships in 2013, 2018, and 2019 – the first back-to-back titles in the NRL era. His trophy cabinet also includes four Minor Premierships (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018), three World Club Challenges (2014, 2019, 2020), and an NRL Nines crown in 2017. In a remarkable rookie season, he was named Dally M Coach of the Year in 2013.

By mid-2024, Robinson had surpassed all predecessors to become the club’s longest-serving head coach, having overseen more than 300 games. Under his guidance, the Roosters transformed into a consistent powerhouse, securing multiple top-four finishes and establishing a culture of sustained success.

Renowned for his calm, articulate leadership style, Robinson has prioritised cultural development, fostering strong player leadership and a clear tactical vision that has set the standard for the competition. His resilience has also shone through – most notably in 2021, when he guided the team through a major injury crisis to still qualify for the finals.

The “Modern Standard” tribute will serve as a permanent reminder of Robinson’s legacy, celebrating how he redefined excellence at the Roosters and left an indelible mark on the sport. Club officials have stated the installation will be completed in time for the 2025 NRL season kick-off.
