Steve Lomas Returns to West Ham United as Senior Coaching Staff
West Ham United has announced the appointment of former club legend Steve Lomas as a new member of the senior coaching staff. Lomas, who enjoyed a celebrated career with the Hammers from 1997 to 2005, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the club.
Lomas made 227 appearances for West Ham, captaining the team and playing a pivotal role in some of the club’s most memorable moments. His leadership on the field and his commitment to the claret and blue have made him a revered figure among West Ham supporters.

Lomas’s main achievement as a West Ham player was winning the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup, which qualified the club for the UEFA Cup. He also served as captain and was part of the squad that won promotion back to the Premier League in 2005.
During his first five years, West Ham achieved their most successful Premier League finishes, including finishing fifth in the 1998/99 season. His time at West Ham included a European adventure that saw the team qualify for the UEFA Cup by beating Metz. In November 1998, Lomas was part of the team that defeated Tottenham 2-1 at White Hart Lane to go second in the Premier League.
