Mayenda Set to Boost Everton’s Attack in Loan Move

Liverpool, England – Everton FC have secured the services of promising forward Eliezer Mayenda on a six-month loan deal from Sunderland AFC, with a view to a permanent transfer in the January window. The Toffees fought off interest from several other Premier League clubs to land the talented 20-year-old, who is expected to add dynamism and firepower to their attacking options.

Mayenda made a significant impact at Sunderland after joining in the summer of 2024. His most memorable moment came in the 2025 EFL Championship Play-Off Final, where he scored the crucial equalizing goal in a 2-1 victory over Brentford, propelling Sunderland to promotion. He carried his impressive form into the Premier League, netting the club’s first goal of the season against Aston Villa. His stunning solo goal against Bristol City in April 2025 earned him the Championship Goal of the Month award, endearing him to the Sunderland faithful.

“Eliezer has been a fantastic player for us, and we are grateful for his contributions,” said Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris. “This loan move to Everton provides him with a great opportunity to further his development in the Premier League. We believe he has the potential to become a top player, and we will be closely monitoring his progress.”

Everton FC manager David Moyes expressed his delight at securing Mayenda’s signature. “Eliezer is a young, dynamic player with a lot of potential,” he said. “He has shown his quality in the Championship and the Premier League, and we believe he can add a different dimension to our attack. He’s quick, skillful, and has an eye for goal – exactly what we need. We look forward to working with him and helping him reach his full potential.”

The loan deal includes an option for Everton to make the transfer permanent in January, should Mayenda impress during his time at Goodison Park.
