
Eels Dominate NSWRL, Secure 2025 Flowers Memorial Pennant
Parramatta, NSW – The Parramatta Eels have cemented their dominance in New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL), clinching the coveted 2025 Flowers Memorial Pennant. This prestigious award, formerly known as the Club Championship, is bestowed upon the club with the highest aggregate points across all major NSWRL competitions at the end of the regular season.
The Flowers Memorial Pennant is named in honour of Fred Flowers, a significant figure as the first president of the Political Labor League. The Eels’ victory marks the 18th time the club has received this honour, underscoring their long-standing reputation as a powerhouse of talent development in the sport.
“This achievement is a testament to the strength of our entire football program,” said Parramatta Eels Chief Executive, Jim Sarantinos. “It reflects the hard work and dedication of our players, coaching staff, the broader football department, and all the support staff across the Club.”
Sarantinos emphasized the significance of the win, stating, “It’s a proud moment for the club and a direct result of the investments we’ve made in coaching, development, and facilities. We are now seeing the rewards of this commitment, both on and off the field.”
He also acknowledged the leadership and commitment of General Manager of Football, Mark O’Neill, and the entire football department in driving the club’s success.
The Eels enjoyed a stellar 2025 season across various grades, including:
– NSW Cup (Coach: Nathan Cayless): Finished 3rd, reached the Preliminary Final.
– Jersey Flegg (Coach: Jordan Rankin): Finished 5th.
– SG Ball (Coach: Mitch Lewis): Claimed the Minor Premiership, Grand Finalists.
– Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership (Coach: Mick Withers): Finished 5th, narrowly missing the finals.
– Tarsha Gale Cup (Coach: Char Henry): Finished 5th, secured the Club’s first-ever premiership in this competition.
– Lisa Fiola Cup (Coach: Ryan Walker): Finished 3rd, also achieved their first premiership for the Club.
The Eels’ consistent performance across all levels highlights their robust development pathway, fueled by dedicated coaching and a strong focus on nurturing emerging talent.
