The Kansas State Wildcats are gearing up for a potential resurgence in the Big 12 Conference in 2025, fueled by the return of key defensive playmakers and strategic additions through the transfer portal. While their defense displayed commendable solidity last season, the Wildcats are aiming for significant improvement to bolster their championship aspirations.
Last season’s defensive statistics paint a mixed picture. The Wildcats ranked a respectable 50th nationally in points allowed per game (23.4), showcasing their ability to contain opponents’ scoring drives. Their run defense also held its own, ranking 28th in the FBS with 118.7 rushing yards allowed per game. However, their pass defense needs significant bolstering, as they ranked a less impressive 77th nationally, allowing 224.7 passing yards per game.
