Miami HEAT Secure Myron Gardner with Two-Way Contract

The Miami HEAT have bolstered their roster with the signing of forward Myron Gardner to a two-way contract, the team announced today. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, per team policy, the addition of Gardner represents a significant investment in young talent and a strategic move to enhance the team’s depth.

Gardner’s impressive performance during the recent Summer League showcased his potential. In four games (two starts), he averaged a robust 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.75 steals, and 1.8 assists. His shooting efficiency was particularly noteworthy, boasting a 50 percent field goal percentage, a team-high 61.5 percent from three-point range, and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. He led the team in steals with 11 and scored in double figures in three of his four appearances, leaving a lasting impression on the HEAT coaching staff.

Gardner’s Summer League success built upon a strong G League season with the Osceola Magic. In 34 regular season games (16 starts), he averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.24 steals in 23.4 minutes per game. His 52.5 percent field goal percentage further highlights his consistent scoring ability. He was a key contributor to the team’s success, helping them achieve a 22-12 record and the top seed in the Eastern Conference. His offensive prowess was evident in his 19 double-digit scoring performances, including six 20-point games and two 30-point outings. He also demonstrated his all-around game with five double-figure rebounding performances and four double-doubles. His defensive contributions were equally impressive, highlighted by a season-high seven steals and a +63 plus/minus, indicating his positive impact on the court.

The two-way contract structure allows Gardner to split time between the HEAT and their G League affiliate, providing valuable experience and development opportunities. This signing reflects the HEAT’s commitment to identifying and nurturing promising young players, adding depth to their roster while investing in future talent. Gardner’s combination of scoring ability, defensive intensity, and overall court awareness makes him a valuable asset to the HEAT organization. His contributions will be closely watched as he aims to make a significant impact on the team’s success in the upcoming season.
