Kansas State Sends Three Players to the 2025 NFL Draft

MANHATTAN, KS – Kansas State University’s football program continued its recent trend of strong NFL Draft representation, sending three Wildcats to the professional ranks in the 2025 NFL Draft. The success reflects the steady improvement of the program under head coach Chris Klieman, demonstrating the growing appeal of K-State to top-tier talent.

While no Wildcats were selected on the first day of the draft, the team’s fortunes changed on day two. Cornerback Jacob Parrish was the first Wildcat called, selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 84th overall pick in the third round. This marked a solid start for K-State, setting the stage for further successes on the final day.

The remaining Wildcats’ selections occurred on Saturday. Running back DJ Giddens was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round, at pick number 151. Following closely behind, safety Marques Sigle exceeded many draft projections when he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers, just nine picks later at number 160, surpassing expectations.

This marks the third consecutive year that the Wildcats have had at least three players selected in the NFL Draft. This consistent output of NFL-caliber talent underscores the progress K-State has made under Klieman’s leadership. The team’s performance in the draft has steadily improved, marking a considerable turnaround from previous years.

The 2023 NFL Draft represented the program’s high-water mark under Klieman, with four Wildcats selected, including first-round pick defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah (Kansas City Chiefs) and second-round pick cornerback Julius Brents (Indianapolis Colts). The year prior, three Wildcats were drafted, with notable selections including tight end Ben Sinnott (Washington Commanders) and offensive lineman Cooper Beebe (Dallas Cowboys).

This year’s draft picks further solidify the program’s reputation for producing NFL-caliber talent. Parrish’s selection highlighted his skills and potential in the secondary, while Giddens’ running back abilities and Sigle’s defensive expertise impressed scouts.

The three selections confirm the continued development of the Kansas State football program, showcasing the effectiveness of Klieman’s coaching and recruiting strategies. The Wildcats will undoubtedly look to maintain this success moving forward, continuing to produce NFL-level talent and increasing visibility on the national football stage. The consistent representation in recent drafts serves as a testament to the program’s dedication to player development and on-field success, confirming the trajectory of a rising football powerhouse and bolstering recruiting efforts for years to come.
