Serah Williams, Wisconsin basketball’s two-time all-Big Ten selection, will transfer
MADISON – In three seasons, Serah Williams carved out one of the best careers for a Wisconsin women’s basketball player.
The 6-foot-4 junior forward announced on social media Wednesday afternoon that she intends to enter the transfer portal.
The news came three days after Marisa Moseley, who recruited Wiliams, resigned as head coach after almost four seasons.
“Thank you Coach Mo and coaching staff for the past 3 years,” she wrote. “Thank you Wisconsin and the Badger community for all of your support. I’m super blessed and grateful. With that being said, l’ve decided to enter the transfer portal.”
Williams averaged 19.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game this season in becoming just the fifth player in program history to earn first-team all-Big Ten Conference distinction multiple times (also last season). She also averaged a 2.3 blocks and a career-high 2.4 assists per game.
Williams was also a two-time selection to the all-Big Ten defensive team. Last season she was the media’s choice for defensive player of the year.
She finished her UW career 11th in scoring with 1,494 points. She is third in double-doubles (36) and second in rebounding average (8.6). She is also fourth in scoring average (16.4) and and fifth in field goal percentage (.515).
