Five-Star Running Back Savion Hiter to Return to Tennessee for Weekend Visit

Tennessee Volunteers football is set to receive another high-profile visit this weekend, as five-star running back Savion Hiter, the top-rated prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, announced his return to Knoxville. Hiter, a highly sought-after recruit, will be making his second visit to Rocky Top, further solidifying Tennessee’s position as a strong contender for his commitment.

Hiter’s visit is particularly significant given his upcoming official visits to other top programs. He is scheduled to visit Ohio State the weekend of May 30th, Georgia the weekend of June 6th, and Michigan the weekend of June 13th. Crucially, Tennessee will receive his final visit before the mandated dead period begins on July 31st, placing them in a prime position to make a lasting impression.

Hiter’s previous visit to Tennessee left a strong positive impression. He described the atmosphere as “electric,” emphasizing the strong sense of community and family within the program. He noted that the Vols lived up to his expectations, showcasing the program’s energy and enthusiasm.

The running back has consistently expressed a strong connection with the Tennessee coaching staff, highlighting the established rapport he’s built over several years. He emphasized the Vols’ clear demonstration of their desire to recruit him, citing strong relationships with running backs coach Jerry Mack and current coach Josh Sims, as well as a long-standing connection with coach Aston Walter.

This sustained relationship, built since his freshman year, underscores the significant effort Tennessee has invested in recruiting Hiter. The fact that he’s choosing to return for another visit, especially with official visits to other major programs already scheduled, indicates a genuine interest in the Vols program and a desire to further evaluate their offerings.

Hiter’s visit will provide him with another opportunity to assess the team’s facilities, interact with the coaching staff and current players, and experience the overall atmosphere of the program. The upcoming dead period will then allow him time to reflect on his visits and make a well-informed decision about his future. Tennessee’s coaching staff will undoubtedly make the most of this opportunity to showcase the program’s strengths and further solidify their position in his recruitment.
