The Tennessee Titans had one of the worst special teams units in the league under Colt Anderson in 2024. That’s why Brian Callahan replaced him with the highly-touted special teams coordinator John Fassel in his second year as head coach.

While the unit was underwhelming overall, they had a promising young safety who was an undrafted rookie and found his way onto the field as a special teamer. After nine games in which he played over 100 snaps, Wood was suspended by the NFL for violating their performance-enhancing drugs policy.

He missed the rest of the season as a result but recently received some good news from the NFL regarding the suspension. They ruled that the league would temporarily lift the suspension so he could participate in offseason activities.

Wood will have a chance to make the 53-man roster this offseason despite his violation of the league’s policy. He is required to complete the sixth game of his suspension terms if he makes the initial roster for the Titans.

After spending the first two seasons of his college career at Blinn College, Wood transferred to East Carolina where he played three seasons for the Pirates. He was initially signed by the Dallas Cowboys after going undrafted but ended up in Tennessee with the Titans after he was cut in late August of 2024.
