Who did BYU Football sign on 2025 National Signing Day?

With early signing day on the first week of December holding more and more importance each year, National Signing Day doesn’t hold the significance that it once did.

But there are still big names out there who did not sign in December that are looking for the collegiate home.

After the Cougars signed 18 players two months ago, they added four more key pieces to the mix today. Let’s take a look at who BYU managed to sign.

McKay Madsen: 4-star Linebacker/Running back – Clovis, CA

The top ranked player in BYU’s 2025 class made a splash in the college football world when he announced his commitment to the Cougars on national television at the All-American game. Madsen picked BYU over Oregon and UCLA.

Madsen, who played running back and linebacker at Clovis North High School, stands tall at 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds.

He rushed for 1,238 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024, and also snagged four interceptions, including one for a pick-six.

It is unsure what position he will play for BYU. Head coach Kalani Sitake has said he likes what he sees out of Madsen at running back, but Cougar fans will have to wait two years before they see him on the field, as he will serve a mission before returning in 2027.

Landon Goff: 3-star Safety – Highland, UT

The only local player to sign with BYU today was Lone Peak High School’s Landon Goff.

Goff was a key piece to the Knight’s defense that made it all the way to the 6A state championship game.

In total, Goff had seven interceptions and returned two kickoffs for touchdowns last season.

Goff will also serve a mission prior to arriving at BYU.

Jordyn Criss: 3-star Cornerback – Arlington, TX

One of the fastest high school track athletes in the state of Texas just so happened to join the Cougars’ secondary.

Jordyn Criss boasts a 10.83 second 10-meter time, and helped his school place fourth in the 4×200 at state.

The lockdown corner allowed no touchdowns last season.

Jacob Nye: 3-star Tight End – Melissa TX

The last of BYU’s signees came at a much-needed position: tight end.

At 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, Jacob Nye could be the answer to BYU’s tight end questions in the future.

The Texas native logged over 700 receiving yards and scored 13 touchdowns in 2024.
