Kansas City Chiefs Seek to Limit Philadelphia Eagles Fan Attendance at Upcoming Game

Kansas City, MO – January 9, 2024 – The Kansas City Chiefs have formally requested the National Association of Collegiate Commissioners (NACC) to limit Philadelphia Eagles fan attendance at their upcoming game. This request, submitted today, addresses concerns about fan safety and potential disruptions due to a large influx of visiting supporters.

Chiefs President Mark Donovan stated the team is committed to a safe and positive game-day experience for all fans. While welcoming fans from all teams, the anticipated number of Eagles fans presents significant logistical and security challenges.

“We recognize the passion of Eagles fans,” Donovan said, “but the expected high attendance raises serious concerns about maintaining order and security within the stadium.”

The Chiefs’ request details concerns including potential overcrowding, strain on parking and transportation, and a heightened risk of fan altercations. Proposed solutions include stricter ticket sales policies, potentially limiting sales to Kansas City area residents, and enhanced stadium security.

The Chiefs are collaborating with local law enforcement and stadium security to create a comprehensive safety plan. They hope the NACC will support their request to mitigate risks and ensure a safe and enjoyable game for everyone. A response from the NACC is expected in the coming days.
