This BYU player earned a national award for his Alamo Bowl performance
BYU’s Alamo Bowl victory over Colorado was plenty memorable, and even more so now for Parker Kingston.
Kingston has been named to the Associated Press all-bowl team as a punt returner, having returned four punts for 105 yards against the Buffaloes along with a 64-yard touchdown.
Kingston’s return score gave the Cougars a 17-0 lead, all but burying Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and company before halftime.
The all-bowl team is comprised of all players who played in non-playoff bowl games. Other selections included Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord, Kansas State running back Dylan Edwards and USC wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane.
His 90-yard return score against Kansas State became an immediate, all-time highlight in Cougars program lore.
As a receiver, Kingston racked up 239 yards on 19 touches with a touchdown grab. A quarterback during his prep career at Roy High, he also threw for another score as well on a trick play.
Kingston played 2024 as a sophomore and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
