LSU Football Head Coach Brian Kelly Announces He Will Not Sign Contract Extension with Tigers
BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU football head coach Brian Kelly stunned fans and the college football world on Monday by announcing that he would not be signing a contract extension with the Tigers, despite leading the team to a successful start under his leadership. Kelly, who has been at the helm of LSU since 2022, made the surprising decision following a strong 2023 season in which the Tigers finished with a 10-3 record and earned a bowl game appearance.
In a statement released by LSU, Kelly explained that while he values the opportunity to coach at LSU, he felt that it was the right time for both himself and the program to reassess the future.
