Georgia Gets Boost With Latest College Football News
The Georgia Bulldogs headed into the weekend on a high note thanks to the latest college football news. Head coach Kirby Smart received a positive update from a big-time recruit in the 2026 class.
Georgia now has five commits in the 2026 recruiting class, including three four-stars after the latest commit. Smart landed a commitment from the No. 5 rated safety prospect in the country and No. 39 ranked overall player in the 2026 recruiting class, per ESPN.
On Thursday, Zech Fort announced his commitment to the Dawgs over other top college football programs like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Ohio State Buckeyes and USC Trojans. The IMG Academy safety out of Bradenton, Fla., cited the “pipeline to the NFL” as a major reason for his decision to commit to Georgia.
“It’s a pipeline to the NFL,” Fort told On3.com’s Jeremy Johnson on Thursday. “They sent a lot of players to the league…That’s the right fit for me. I’d like to be a part of something like that.”
