BYU Football Gears Up for Critical Recruiting Weekend

As national signing day quickly approaches, the BYU football program is focusing on a crucial weekend to round out its 2025 recruiting class while also setting the stage for future classes. With just under two weeks remaining until national signing day, the Cougars are working hard to finalize their 2025 class and also begin their efforts for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

One of the key highlights of this recruiting weekend is the commitment of four-star athlete McKay Madsen. Madsen, who made his commitment to BYU at the prestigious All-American Bowl earlier this month, is expected to sign with the Cougars as part of the 2025 class. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect is highly regarded for his versatility, having the ability to play multiple positions including wide receiver, cornerback, and safety. His commitment is seen as a major boost for BYU, signaling the program’s continued strength in landing top talent.

In addition to Madsen’s signing, the coaching staff is set to host a number of high school recruits and their families this weekend. BYU head coach Kalani Sitake and his assistants are working to make a final impression on several prospects who are still undecided or considering other options. The weekend serves as an important opportunity for recruits to get a closer look at the BYU football program, interact with coaches and players, and experience the atmosphere of the school.

Beyond focusing on the current class, the weekend also provides a chance to lay the groundwork for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Coaches are expected to start building relationships with younger players, offering early interest and possibly extending some preliminary scholarship offers.

With significant momentum already building, this weekend will be an essential step for BYU as they continue to develop their football program and secure the future of Cougar football.
