BYU Football Star Dallin Havea Announces Departure After Three Seasons
Provo, Utah — Dallin Havea, a standout player for the BYU Cougars football team, officially announced today that he is leaving the program after three successful seasons. Havea, a versatile and dynamic presence on the field, made the decision to step away from the team in order to pursue new opportunities, a move that shocked fans and teammates alike.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker had become a key figure for BYU over his three years with the team, making significant contributions to their defensive unit. Known for his high football IQ, leadership, and relentless work ethic, Havea quickly earned a reputation as one of the Cougars’ most promising talents.
In a statement released via social media, Havea expressed his gratitude to the BYU coaching staff, his teammates, and the fanbase for their unwavering support. “It has been an incredible honor to play for BYU and represent this university. I will forever be grateful for the memories and the relationships I’ve built over the past few years,” Havea wrote.
During his time at BYU, Havea became known for his playmaking ability, finishing the 2024 season with impressive statistics. His speed and tackling ability made him one of the most effective linebackers in the Mountain West Conference. However, despite his success on the field, Havea mentioned that he felt it was time for a change in order to further his personal and professional goals.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake responded to the news with support and well-wishes for Havea’s future. “Dallin has been a tremendous asset to our program, and while we will miss him, we respect his decision. We wish him all the best in whatever comes next,” Sitake said.
While Havea’s departure leaves a gap in the Cougar defense, the team is expected to lean on its other rising stars to fill the void. Fans will now eagerly await to see what the next chapter holds for the talented linebacker.
