Notre Dame Football RB Jadarian Price De-commits, Commits to Ohio State: A Major Win for the Buckeyes

In a significant shift for both programs, highly touted running back Jadarian Price has de-committed from Notre Dame and verbally committed to Ohio State, a move that could bolster the Buckeyes’ already dynamic recruiting class.

Price, a top 2024 recruit from Denison, Texas, had initially committed to Notre Dame in 2022, but after careful consideration, he chose to flip his allegiance to Ohio State. The 6-foot, 195-pound back is regarded as one of the top running back prospects in the nation, with a blend of speed, vision, and power that has drawn comparisons to some of college football’s most dynamic playmakers.

For Ohio State, landing Price is a significant coup. Head coach Ryan Day and his staff have been known for consistently recruiting elite talent, and Price fits perfectly into their high-octane offense. With a powerful running game becoming increasingly vital in the modern college football landscape, adding a running back of Price’s caliber solidifies Ohio State’s backfield for years to come. The Buckeyes have developed a reputation for producing top-tier NFL-caliber players, and Price’s commitment ensures that trend will likely continue.

Notre Dame, on the other hand, will now have to reassess their recruiting plans in the wake of Price’s de-commitment. While the Fighting Irish still boast a strong class, losing a talent like Price is a tough blow for their 2024 recruiting efforts. Nonetheless, head coach Marcus Freeman will undoubtedly turn his attention to other prospects in hopes of finding a replacement who can make an immediate impact.

Price’s decision to join Ohio State is a major statement for the Buckeyes, solidifying their position as one of the nation’s premier programs. With the addition of a top-tier running back, Ohio State’s offense only becomes more formidable as they look to compete for another national championship in 2024.
