Ex-Alabama EDGE makes Kansas State football transfer move
Not only did Kansas State football (9-4, 5-4 Big 12) end its season on a high note with a 44-41 Rate Bowl win over Rutgers, but it’s also cooking in the transfer portal. That continued on Tuesday, as the Wildcats landed EDGE Jayshawn Ross out of Alabama, via On3.
The 6-foot-4, 239-pounder was a true freshman this past season and only played against Mercer in limited action on November 16. Ross almost went to Kansas State out of high school last year, but went with the Crimson Tide after a visit from Nick Saban.

The Kansas City native opened up during that time about his love for the Wildcats, via 247 Sports’ Cole Carmody.
“K-State just has the root to the story,” Ross said. “Always been there for me and has done tremendous things for me. Great program, great coaches, lots of opportunities with the great talents through there, and thank you to them. Nothing but grateful.”
Ross was a unanimous four-star recruit out of Liberty North High School after recording 15 sacks in 13 games his senior year. However, an injury forced him to miss the beginning of the season with Alabama and made it difficult to work up the depth chart.
