BYU Football Delivers Healthy Message Ahead of New Season

As the 2025 football season approaches, BYU Football is focused not only on improving their play on the field but also prioritizing the well-being of their players. With the arrival of a new year, the program has set its sights on providing players with the best tools to perform at their highest level, and that includes addressing both physical and mental health.

In a recent team meeting, head coach Kalani Sitake emphasized the importance of taking care of oneself off the field. “We want our players to understand that health is not just about the physical aspects of the game, but about their overall well-being,” Sitake stated. “The mental, emotional, and physical aspects must all align for them to be at their best.”

To prepare for the grueling season ahead, the team has introduced enhanced health programs that include mental health resources, nutritional counseling, and partnerships with local health professionals. Additionally, the Cougars have increased access to advanced recovery techniques such as cryotherapy, massage therapy, and state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment.

The addition of these resources is part of BYU’s commitment to ensuring that players recover well from the demands of training and competition. “In the past, recovery may have been an afterthought,” said team captain, linebacker Ben Bywater. “Now, it’s a top priority. The coaches and staff are doing everything they can to make sure we’re physically and mentally prepared for what’s to come.”

This holistic approach aims to reduce the risk of injuries, improve mental clarity, and maintain overall player longevity throughout the season. The Cougars are gearing up for a successful 2025 campaign, confident that a healthy, balanced approach to training will be key to their performance on the field. Fans can expect a rejuvenated and focused BYU team ready to tackle their toughest opponents.
