Borussia Dortmund Confirm Karim Adeyemi and Three Other Key Players to Be Out for Six Months Due to Injury

Borussia Dortmund has been hit with a significant blow as the club confirmed that four key players, including striker Karim Adeyemi, will be sidelined for up to six months due to injuries. The announcement comes as a major setback for the Bundesliga club, which is currently navigating a demanding season in both domestic and European competitions.

Adeyemi, who joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022, has been one of the team’s standout performers, with his pace and goal-scoring ability making a considerable impact. However, it was revealed that the young forward suffered a serious muscle injury during Dortmund’s recent match against FC Cologne, which will keep him off the field for at least half a year.

Alongside Adeyemi, three other key players have also been diagnosed with long-term injuries. Midfielder Julian Brandt, a central figure in Dortmund’s attacking setup, has sustained an ankle injury, while defender Mats Hummels is expected to miss significant playing time due to a knee issue. Additionally, goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who has been instrumental in Dortmund’s defensive strength, has been ruled out with a torn hamstring.

Dortmund’s head coach, Edin Terzic, expressed his concern but assured that the club’s medical team is working diligently to support the recovery of all affected players. “It’s a tough blow for us, especially with such critical players out for an extended period,” Terzic commented. “However, we have a deep squad, and we’ll rely on our team’s collective effort to overcome this challenge.”

With these key players sidelined, Dortmund faces a crucial period ahead, as they attempt to maintain their competitive edge in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Fans will be hoping that the club can continue to perform at a high level despite the injuries.
