Bloomington, IN — Teri Moren, the highly respected head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers women’s basketball team, officially announced that she will step down from her position at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 season. The announcement came today in a heartfelt statement to the media and Hoosiers fans across the country.

Moren, who has been the face of the program since taking over in 2014, has led the Hoosiers to unprecedented success during her tenure. Under her leadership, Indiana has become a powerhouse in the NCAA Women’s Basketball landscape, consistently competing for Big Ten titles and earning multiple NCAA Tournament berths, including a Final Four appearance in 2023. Her coaching prowess and emphasis on player development have not only brought success on the court but also helped elevate the program’s reputation both regionally and nationally.

In her statement, Moren expressed gratitude to the players, staff, and the loyal fan base that supported her throughout her career. “It has been an honor to lead such an incredible group of student-athletes,” said Moren. “The memories we’ve created together are truly special, and I’m excited to finish my final season strong with this remarkable team.”

The decision to step away comes after a decade of building a championship-caliber program, but Moren stressed that now is the right time for both herself and the program to move forward in a new direction. Indiana Athletics Director Scott Dolson praised Moren for her exceptional leadership and commitment, adding that her legacy would forever be etched in Hoosier history.

Indiana University has confirmed that a national search for Moren’s successor will begin following the conclusion of the season.
