Search Underway for Missing 21-Year-Old at Mizzou Swimming Pool
Columbia, MO – A search is currently underway for a 21-year-old University of Missouri student who was reported missing at a local swimming pool late Sunday evening. Authorities have identified the student as Jessica Miller, a junior majoring in psychology. Friends and family last saw her around 9 p.m. at the campus recreation facility, where she had gone to relax with fellow students.
According to witnesses, Miller was swimming in the outdoor pool when she reportedly left to use the restroom. After a considerable amount of time had passed without her return, her friends began to search the area and eventually alerted campus security. Staff and emergency responders quickly mobilized, initiating a search of the pool and surrounding areas.
The Columbia Police Department has deployed divers and search teams to assist in locating Miller. “We are using all available resources to find her as quickly as possible,” said Officer Mark Turner. “We urge anyone who may have seen Jessica or has information on her whereabouts to contact us immediately.”
Miller is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black swimsuit and a blue cover-up. Friends and family have expressed their concern for her safety and are hopeful for a swift resolution.
In the wake of this incident, the university has released a statement offering support to students and encouraging anyone with information to come forward. As the search continues, campus community members are reminded to look out for one another and to report any suspicious activities or concerns.
The investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
