Georgia Bulldogs Men’s Basketball Guard Savo Drezgić to Miss Two Months Due to Knee Injury

Athens, GA – The Georgia Bulldogs men’s basketball team faces a significant setback as sophomore guard Savo Drezgić is set to miss the next two months due to a knee injury sustained during practice. The team announced the news on Tuesday, confirming that Drezgić underwent an MRI that revealed a sprained ligament.

Drezgić, a key player for the Bulldogs, was expected to be an integral part of the team’s strategy this season after a promising freshman year, where he averaged 12 points and 5 assists per game. His ability to create plays and contribute defensively has made him a fan favorite and a vital asset for Coach Tom Crean.

The injury comes just weeks before the start of the season, raising concerns about the team’s depth and performance in upcoming games. “We’re obviously disappointed for Savo, as he has worked incredibly hard during the offseason to prepare for this year,” Coach Crean stated. “Our focus now is on his recovery and ensuring he receives the best care possible.”

In Drezgić’s absence, other players will need to step up, and the coaching staff is already evaluating potential lineup adjustments. The Bulldogs’ first game is scheduled for November 7 against the rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and fans will be watching closely to see how the team adapts without one of its top guards.

As Drezgić embarks on his rehabilitation, the Bulldogs remain hopeful for his return to full strength later in the season.
