Saints Coaches to Ride Out Hurricane Francine at Facility; Schedule in Flux

As Hurricane Francine approaches, the New Orleans Saints coaching staff has decided to weather the storm at the team’s training facility. The decision, announced earlier today, comes as part of a broader effort to ensure safety and continuity amid the severe weather conditions.

With the hurricane expected to make landfall within the next 48 hours, the Saints’ head coach and staff are preparing to stay at the facility located in Metairie, Louisiana. The facility has been fortified to withstand heavy winds and flooding, providing a secure environment for the coaches during the storm. “The safety of our staff is our top priority,” said a team spokesperson. “We’re taking all necessary precautions to ensure they remain safe and comfortable.”

The storm’s impact on the team’s schedule has already been significant. The Saints’ upcoming practice sessions and team meetings have been put on hold or rescheduled as officials monitor the storm’s progress. The team’s next game, scheduled for Sunday, is also in question, with the NFL expected to make a decision on possible postponements or relocations based on the storm’s trajectory and intensity.

“We’re closely coordinating with league officials and local authorities to assess the situation and make adjustments as needed,” the spokesperson added. “Our focus is on keeping everyone safe and minimizing disruption to our preparation.”

The Saints have encouraged fans to stay tuned for updates on the game schedule and other changes. Meanwhile, the team’s players have been instructed to remain in contact with coaches and training staff for updates and guidance.

Hurricane Francine, which has been classified as a Category 3 storm, is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds to the region. As the situation develops, the Saints organization remains committed to keeping their community informed and prepared for any potential impacts.
