Bayern Munich prepared to risk losing Real Madrid target for free in 2025

The summer transfer window is now officially open for business, and Real Madrid are expected to be busy in the coming weeks.

Even though Kylian Mbappe has arrived, the reigning Spanish and European champions are targeting at least two more signings this summer with Leny Yoro and Alphonso Davies being the main targets.

Both players are in the final year of their contracts with their respective clubs and as such the Merengues do not intend to spend heavily on either of them.

Bayern Munich ready to take a risk

Just a while back, we reported that Leny Yoro would be willing to see out his contract at Lille and join Real Madrid for free in the summer of 2025.

Now, as far as Alphonso Davies’ situation is concerned, his club, Bayern Munich, are prepared to take the risk of losing him for free next year as they are still attempting to renew his contract, reports The Athletic.

Real Madrid have been informed of the Bavarian giants’ stance, although both parties remain in contact with the player’s agent to discuss the operation.

Los Blancos want Davies to upgrade their options in the left-back position, but will not pay over the odds, especially with Bayern demanding around €60 million.

Considering Ferland Mendy’s improved form, Real Madrid do not see the signing of Davies as a major priority.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are not prepared to give up on their efforts to renew the Canadian international’s contract either and would be ready to risk losing him for nothing next summer.

Signing Davies for free in 2025 could end up suiting Real Madrid as well, considering that Mendy’s contract expires then as well.

Nothing is guaranteed at this point though and there could be movements once Davies returns from international duty at Copa America.
