Meleek Thomas, five-star prospect, making official visit to UConn men’s basketball this week
Looks like a good, old-fashioned, UConn-vs.-Calipari battle is brewing up.
Meleek Thomas, the No. 6-ranked Class of 2025 shooting guard in the nation, per 247Sports.com, will make an official visit to UConn beginning on Wednesday. Soon after that visit is over, Thomas is slated to make an official visit to Arkansas, which is now coached by John Calipari.
Thomas, a Pennsylvania native who recently announced he’ll be playing for the Overtime Elite program next season, has previously made official visits this past winter to Auburn and Kentucky, which was still being coached by Calipari at the time.
Now that Calipari has switched jobs to Arkansas, Thomas’s recruitment looks very much like a battle between Calipari/Arkansas and Dan Hurley and the two-time defending national champions.
Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard, would be UConn’s first 2025 commitment, if he chooses the Huskies.
UConn will also get an unofficial next week from Acaden Lewis, a four-star, 2025 combo guard from Washington, D.C. Lewis, a 6-2 guard, has made official visits to Florida State, Georgetown and Virginia.
