Christian Pulisic injury: Did the USMNT captain get injured against Brazil?
The AC Milan player made an impression against Brazil in the first half with a well-placed free kick, but he was seen limping before this summer’s Copa América.
Fans of the USMNT were concerned when they saw captain Christian Pulisic limping during the first half of the team’s final pre-tournament friendly, just days before the 2024 Copa América got underway.
With the captain’s armband on, Pulisic made an impact against Brazil in the first half as Gregg Berhalter’s team attempted to recover from a crushing 5-1 loss to Colombia in the previous game. Brazil had the advantage, but Pulisic leveled the score with a beautifully placed free kick from the edge of the box.
Before Pulisic was injured late in the first half, everything for Berhalter’s team appeared to be going according to plan. Despite appearing to be holding his left leg, the 25-year-old continued to limp until the halftime siren went off. Berhalter was lucky that Pulisic seemed to shake off the knock and rejoin the team for the second half.
Supporters of the USMNT are divided ahead of Copa America. The fact that so many American athletes are competing in the elite European leagues is unusual, but the fact that so few of them have had especially good seasons with their club teams raises some red flags.
