Real Madrid get Davies boost as Bayern talks hit new roadblock

Why Real Madrid could U-turn on potential transfer for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies - explained | Goal.com English Bahrain

German media reports that Bayern Munich’s upper management is divided on Alphonso Davies.

Real Madrid and the Bundesliga’s top team are still involved in a protracted transfer dispute over the Canadian. As his contract expires in 2025, Los Blancos have been pursuing the left-back since late last year.

The Bayern players’ ultimatum to Davies to make a snap decision had caused their relationship to become tense in recent months. Although the deadline has long since passed, the club and the player have made some progress toward reconciliation with the selection of Vincent Kompany as their new head coach.

Hoeneß is not persuaded by Bayern’s offer, as revealed
The principal point of contention in the negotiations between Davies and Bayern was his pay. According to reports, Bayern was only willing to offer the Canadian about €13 million per season, while he was reportedly demanding €20 million.

According to tz, Bayern’s revised offer now includes bonus payments of up to €4 million, indicating that the difference between Davies’ initial expectations and the club’s bid was not as great as first thought.

But it seems like a whole new problem has emerged. The same source claims that honorary president Uli Hoeneß, whose judgment is still respected at Bayern, is not sure Davies is worth the money.

The 72-year-old is reportedly upset about the player’s subpar play and lack of progress this past season. Meanwhile, director Max Eberl is working hard to get Davies to sign.

After Real Madrid’s Champions League victory and the official declaration of Kylian Mbappe’s arrival, they launched a fresh attack for Davies with new negotiations. It appears that there is still more to this story to tell.
