The Detroit police department responded to a call about domestic violence involving 29-year-old Sutton and a female on March 7. Authorities issued a warrant based on evidence and suspect Sutton has fled Tampa. Attempts to contact and call Sutton have been unsuccessful. Cam Sutton, a key player for the Detroit Lions, has been arrested in connection with a legal issue. The sheriff’s department provided a warrant for his arrest, but property records show him as the owner. Sutton was signed to a $33 million, three-year contract over a year ago, and helped the Lions win a division title for the first time in three decades and two playoff games in one postseason for the first time since 1957. The Lions will continue to monitor the situation.
Sutton, a former Tennessee star, started in all 17 regular season games, making a career-high 65 tackles and one interception. He also started 31 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021 and 202 seasons, making five interceptions with 95 tackles. The Steelers drafted Sutton in 2017, having made nine interceptions in 101 games.
