Dalton Knecht has been named the fourth all-time consensus basketball All-American by the Vols.
Dalton Knecht, a First Team All-American named by The Sporting News, The Associated Press, and the National Basketball Coaches Association, has been confirmed as a consensus All-American.
Knecht was named a First Team All-American by the United Basketball Writers Association, becoming the fourth Tennessee player to earn consensus All-American status all-time.
Tennessee basketball’s 6-foot-6 Knecht, named SEC Player of the Year, is averaging 21.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He is also averaging the second most points by an SEC player in league games in the last 22 seasons with 25.5 points per game. Knecht believes he belonged to the coaching staff and followed a blueprint they had.
Knecht will assist Tennessee in NCAA Tournament history, as the Vols face 15-seed Saint Peter’s, a 21-point favorite, in a historic match for the Vols.
