Josh Crawford is anticipated to become the running backs coach for Georgia football.

Athens — With Josh Crawford set to join the ,Georgia Bulldog has a new running backs coach.
The news was initially reported by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Georgia has not yet made an official announcement on the hire.
Crawford served as the wide receivers coach at Georgia Tech for the previous season. Crawford had two seasons as Western Kentucky’s wide receivers coach, therefore he has never coached running backs at the NCAA level.
Dell McGee, who was appointed Georgia State’s head coach, will be replaced by Crawford. McGee has spent the last eight seasons coaching Georgia’s running backs.
As a long-serving high school coach in Georgia, Crawford has worked at several Georgian institutions, including Greater Atlanta Christian, Jefferson County, Valdosta, and Colquitt County. Crawford did graduate from the University of Georgia with a master’s degree.
Before moving to Georgia, McGee also had experience as a high school coach.
Georgia will need to replace Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards, two of its best rushers. McGee doesn’t, however, abandon an empty cabinet. Trevor Etienne, a Florida transfer, and three 2024 running back signees were also acquired by the Bulldogs.
Roderick Robinson, Andrew Paul, and Branson Robinson are also back for Georgia this season.
This summer, Georgia had to replace four of their on-field assistants. Donte Williams was appointed defensive backs coach by the Bulldogs to replace Fran Brown, while Travaris Robinson joined Georgia as the new co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach after leaving Alabama. Former employee Will Muschamp will take on the position of analyst.
