The Buffalo Bills quarterback and the star of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse initially became associated in May 2023, just after there were reports circulating that Allen had broken up with his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Williams.
The pair has been photographed out on several occasions, and Steinfeld was even observed spending time with Allen’s mother, even though they didn’t disclose their connection at the time and haven’t since.
While Allen did not affirm or deny his connection with Steinfeld during his August 2023 appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, he did not object to the hosts referring to her as his girlfriend.Amidst speculations of a breakup with Williams, the quarterback was seen out with Steinfeld. The New York Post released pictures showing Allen getting out of a black SUV with Steinfeld close by.
Later, he was seen placing his arm across her back in a snap.

Two days later, Allen and Steinfeld were pictured together again in New York City, this time with two other individuals. While the Edge of Seventeen actress wore a black minidress and high-heeled heels, the athlete was dressed entirely in black.

The quarterback was spotted out with Steinfeld amid rumors of a breakup with Williams. Images showed Allen stepping out of a black SUV with Steinfeld nearby were published by The New York Post.
Subsequently, he was seen quickly putting his arm across her back.
On May 27, 2023, Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen embark on another date in New York City.
Two days later, Allen and Steinfeld were spotted in New York City together once more, but this time they were accompanied by two other people. The sportsman wore all black, while the Edge of Seventeen actress accessorized with high-heeled shoes and a black minidress.
The recent pair enjoyed a second date in New York City, this time going to Sushi By Bou in Chelsea for sushi. The proprietor of the restaurant, Michael Sinensky, shared a picture of the newlyweds on Facebook. It showed them grinning and posing with Chef Sergio and another couple while enjoying omakase. Allen was encircling Steinfeld in the picture.
“El chapo @chefsergio_nyc has more admirers. Thank you, Bills Josh Allen, for constantly being in town and liking Sushi By Bou. I also appreciate you bringing in newcomers, Hailee Steinfeld and pals, for the #chelsea #nyc experience,” Sinensky said in her post.
In a separate picture, Allen held a flamethrower while posing with the cook.
June 22, 2023: One person tells PEOPLE Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld are “getting to know each other.”
Allen was asked if he had seen reports about him “making out with his girlfriend” during the Pardon My Take podcast.
“It still amazes me that anyone is concerned about that,” Allen said.
He went on to say that some photographers had been intrusive in their attempts to get pictures of the two, mentioning one such incident in which he saw a photographer “on a boat” attempting to get a picture of him and Steinfeld.
Allen said that the new couple experienced a “gross feeling” and “insecurity” as a result.
