Lamar Jackson Was a Big Fan of a Fan-Made Rug Featuring His Image

When Lamar Jackson enters his home and looks down at the carpeting, he may now see… Lamar Jackson.

Jackson is seen speaking with a staff member on the sidelines of Sunday’s Ravens game against the Seahawks in a video that was uploaded to X, the former Twitter, on Thursday. A fan in the stands created a rug with Jackson’s picture, and the staff member notified Jackson about it.

The employee said, “Dude made this carpet for you,” attempting to make sense of the peculiar circumstance. “He said he’s going to give it … I’ll grab it for you.”

Jackson seems to have seen the carpeting beforehand, as evidenced by his prepared response.

Jackson repeated, “I want that,” in a clipped rhythm that sounded as though the NFL had removed a word. “Tell him to shut up. That carpet, darn it, is what I want.”

The fan was smiling and holding up the carpet as the NFL Films team panned to them to film the scene. After confirming that he was the one intended to retrieve it rather than Jackson, the staff member turned and left.

The end isn’t seen in the video, but the Ravens confirmed to Newsweek via email that Jackson did, in fact, receive his carpet.

This season, Jackson and the Ravens have given their supporters many reasons to be excited. The Ravens crushed the Seahawks, 37-3, on Sunday. Their record improved to 7-2 after the victory, tying them with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best AFC and second-best NFL records.

“After the victory, I think our entire team is just locked in,” Jackson stated to reporters. “I think we’ve improved every week in every phase—special teams, defense, offense, and every other one. We’re harsh on ourselves for some things in the game after we finish, but ultimately, we’re just trying to win. For us, every game is a championship game.

In addition to his typical success running the ball, Jackson is completing a career-high 71.5 percent of his throws on his own. In a rout of the Detroit Lions last month, he recorded an almost flawless quarterback rating, one of his best games to date.

He was asked what the greatest change as a passer this year has been by a reporter on Wednesday.

Jackson grinned.

“What if I don’t have an answer?” He stated. “I don’t know, just diligence and commitment. putting forth my all while I compete outside. Only the proportion changed, nothing else actually did.”
